What is the Avery 5160 template?
Avery 5160 is the standard US address label sheet: 30 labels per 8.5" x 11" page, each 1" x 2-5/8", arranged in 3 columns and 10 rows with a 0.5" top margin. It is the layout most people mean by "address labels", and Avery 8160 (the inkjet version) uses exactly the same template.

How to print Avery 5160 labels online
- Open the Avery 5160 template. Click "Open template". The designer opens with a 2-5/8" x 1" label and the 30-up Avery 5160 sheet layout already set.
- Design one label. Edit the sample address, or add your logo, a QR code or a barcode. Every label on the sheet uses this design.
- Add your address list (optional). Import a CSV or Excel file and insert merge fields such as {{Name}} and {{Address}} to print a different address on every label.
- Print at actual size. Click Sheet, then print or save the PDF. In the print dialog choose "Actual size" or 100% scale, never "Fit to page".
Print a mailing list on Avery 5160
For holiday cards, invitations or customer mailings, keep your addresses in a spreadsheet and let the designer do the layout. Each row becomes one label, 30 per page. Full walkthroughs: print labels from Excel and print labels from Google Sheets. You can also add a barcode or QR code to every label, which is handy for inventory and file-folder labels on the same sheet.
Alignment tips
- Print at 100%. "Fit to page" shrinks the layout a few percent and every row drifts. Choose "Actual size".
- Test on plain paper first. Hold the test print against a label sheet up to a window to check the fit.
- Keep text inside the safe area. Leave about 1/16" of margin inside each label so small feed shifts do not cut off text.
- Load sheets the right way up. Check your printer's paper path; many feed labels face down.
Frequently asked questions
What size is an Avery 5160 label?
Each Avery 5160 label is 1 inch tall and 2-5/8 inches wide (25.4 x 66.7 mm). There are 30 labels on a US Letter sheet, arranged in 3 columns and 10 rows.
Can I make Avery 5160 labels without Microsoft Word?
Yes. Open the Avery 5160 template in the free Label Toolkit designer, type your text or import an address list, and print the sheet as a PDF from any browser on Windows, Mac, Linux or a Chromebook. No Word, no download and no account needed to try it.
Is Avery 8160 the same as 5160?
Avery 8160 uses the same 30-up layout and the same 1" x 2-5/8" label size. 5160 is made for laser printers and 8160 for inkjet printers, so the same template works for both.
How do I print addresses from a spreadsheet onto Avery 5160?
Import your CSV or Excel file into the designer, place merge fields for each column, and print. The designer fills 30 labels per page and continues onto as many pages as your list needs.
Why are my labels misaligned when I print?
Almost always because the print dialog scaled the page. Set scaling to "Actual size" or 100%, turn off "Fit to page", and print one test sheet on plain paper, then hold it against a label sheet to check before using labels.
